Church School News
As summer arrives so does the opportunity to experience Church School in ways that are somewhat different from the “regular” Church School year. We will still offer Nursery care for children Birth-2 years old in the Nursery. The Toddler Class for children 2 years of age and very young 3 year olds (who might be more comfortable in the Toddler room) will continue when coverage is available in the Toddler classroom. When there is no one available for the Toddler class, the Tots will be in the Nursery. There is one Multi-age class which is for children 3 - 3rd grade (completed). The Multi-age class will still meet parents in the Great Hall and parents may still pick up infants and tots in their classrooms downstairs.
Just a reminder to parents that with the nicer weather we may spend some of our time outdoors so please consider a lightweight jacket, sunscreen and eye wear for your child's safety and comfort.

Back to School Supplies Joint Outreach Project
The kids of Church School will once again team up with the Board of Outreach to collect School Supplies for disadvantaged children in our area. The collection boxes are located at both entrances of the Sanctuary. You can find a supply list in the bulletin throughout the summer and posted throughout the church. Last year we were able to offer over 30 Back-Packs and Messenger Bags as well as notebook paper, pencils, crayons, glue and pencil boxes and pouches along with other things requested on the list provided. The collection boxes will be available throughout the Summer.
Vacation Bible School Registration is now open!
Registration for The Congo Connection VBS is open! We will once again join our friends from St.Paul UCC and the Washington Ave. Christian Church for a week of fun, fellowship and faith! VBS will take place July 12-16th from 5:30-8:00 pm (dinner will be available to the kids at 5:30pm) at St. Paul UCC. If you would like to help in any way please contact me. Hope we see you there!
Summer Camp Update
It's not too late to register for some of the Summer camps offered by the Ohio Conference of Outdoor Ministries. If you missed the chance to register by March 31st to lock in the lowest price for camp fear not, there's still time to register your child or family. If you register now you will follow the tier three pricing which is the last price in your camp brochure. Campership money is still available for children attending camp through our own Campership funds and are awarded on a first come first serve basis. Campership covers 50% of a child's fees when they register by the first deadline, after that deadline funds allocated are still 50% of the lowest rate total. Please contact Tracy if you are still interested in camp.
July Church School Theme
The Church school theme for July will be “The Clouds, the Sky & Heaven above!” as we once again celebrate God's creation. We hopefully will be flying kites on July 25th and may need an extra hand or 2, if you would like to help please let me know.
Caregivers, Helpers and Teachers Needed
We are still in need of caregivers, helpers and teachers for the Summer months and the 2010-2011 Church School year. Please consider being a part of a child's life by sharing in their faith journey here at First Church.
